| Bob Kuch - Artist/Sculptor "The sculpture possibly means something to each person. Each person comes to view it with experiences, ideas, feelings, and attitudes which can be extremely different. People often see in the sculpture exactly what they are looking for or the meaning they need it to have for them. That is just what I wanted as I was putting hours and hours into this piece of art. I wanted to touch the hearts of people as they felt the love of Jesus molding the pots. I had such tremendous feeling as I created our Savior and hoped it would touch others in a similar way. The sculpture may be broken down into different categories of symbolism. The pot full of broken pottery represents broken souls who have gathered together searching for wholeness. The cloak above the pot along with the removed shoe represents the willingness to serve. The potter's wheel represents the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Master Potter Himself uses the potter's wheel to form a more perfect vessel. On His right side are the vessels already made whole. |
